The Posh Reception
Candy Floss, popcorn, a magician, hot dogs & pink lemonade
Walking the line
I knew it was going to a difficult walk. The distance, the people, Dan waiting in the front, the red carpet and the very soft grass underneath all made the walk down the very narrow aisle a challenging one. But I made it to the front and into Dan’s arms on the beat of You raise me up by Celtic Women (the CD did jump once or twice). It was beautiful and I felt beautiful and I was about to become a WIFE.
Our Big Day!
It started with yoga at the pool deck, followed by a swim. We were then transported in style by Fish, my brother-in-law, donning a Fabiani suit and Pringle tie…looking all handsome. High tea at The Westcliff was next and then the hair and make up sessions started. One by one. I was last and I must admit, my timing was a little out. But we had a fabulous day and Annie did make me stop to smell the roses (literally).

A little bit of pampering
On Friday before the wedding the girls were treated to a day at the skin sense day spa. It was great. We all chose our favourite treatments. I had a face print facial to ensure a glow on the big day and I also indulged in a body wrap. We had a great day that started with a healthy breakfast together in a fab room filled with light and air. A very nice place to spend a relaxing day and the perfect hide away in the heart of Joburg.

The balad of the big ballerina
Ah, the day came. I wore pink. The rest was a great surprise. I promise I will send pics. But I can assure all you non believers that I did not disappoint. I did pirouettes, the dehors and even the splits. I now have a very sore hamstring...possibly horribly stretched. Attached is the invitation Annie sent to the girls for the pamper party. To those who came. Thanks. To those who stayed. I really appreciate it.

A letter to my bridesmaids and fellow compatriots
I know you are up to something...and I know it is something good. I know its about my pamper party and I know it is on Saturday night. I know I am going to be wearing pink. I know I have to be ready by six. I think the dress is way too short. And I know that I am loving the suspense and I can't wait to be dancing to the beat of my favourite songs with Annie bopping up and down. I know I am getting married in 15 days time. I know I can't wait.

The hair trial
Went for a hair trial with Mapitso this afternoon. Dunlikeit. It's too tight and prissy. Wanted something more like the pic above. I think she was in a hurry. Anyway, R350 later and still at square one. Actually square two cause I suppose I know what I don't want. On the web looking at hairstyles right now. I am tired. (Got a new job today!)

RSVP etiquette
I have watched with great interest the flow of RSVP's for our wedding day. Some people respond immediately (as would be the case with Dan), others not immediately, cause they might not want to seem as if they have been awaiting the arrival of the invite in anticipation and then there are the ones that respond a day before the due date (that would be me!). We have also had some that have not responded at all, leaving us with the nagging fear that the invitations never arrived...we will be blaming the South African postal service. Going to check online what is the correct time to RSVP to an invitation...will let you know.
Laggingjittersyndromephobia
Today a friend asked me if I was nervous. Yes I am, I responded, but not about the wedding. Writing an exam tomorrow night. I mean really..how is that for bad planning. My mom was here for the weekend, hoping to protect me from pre wedding jitters. The gesture was appreciated, the breakfasts around town were great and as always it was great to have here with me. But, no jitters yet. I hope they come, cause my appetite is still very much here and I have it from reliable sources that the appetite goes when the jitters arrive.
